Remembering the wonderful master: Alexander McQueen

If there's a man in this universe whom I hugely admire, even beyond death, it has to be the great master Alexander McQueen. The first fashion designer I've ever loved, having a strong power to mesmerize me, is the british designer John Galliano as he was Dior's fashion director. Then, Great Britain kept on rocking my inspiring side while allowing Alexander McQueen to touch, to move and to get deep into my most inner senses with his marvelous, so intriguing, so powerful and so artistic work.  And that's exactly what Alexander merely was, a true artist that had been given such a wonderful gift to proyect his imagination and desires in such a magnificent way through fashion masterpieces. He could easily have been called "the Michelangelo of fashion" despite of the difference of their eras and their art field, both of them were perfectionists and really felt what they were doing, what they created.
 McQueen was well known for creating the extraordinary, for creating what we might think was unimaginable leaving me totally speechless and incredibly amazed. His fall-winter collections were so spectacular and of course, unique pieces needed a unique presentation. Models in the fashion shows worn masks, armour, big hats and a very interesting makeup that added the perfect amount of controversy. He naturally became one of the most influential fashion designers of all times and became even more popular while Lady Gaga was a fan of his artwork and wore McQueen pieces on her videos and appearances.

Si hay un hombre en este universo a quien increíblemente admiro, incluso más allá de la muerte, tiene que ser el gran maestro Alexander McQueen. El primer diseñador de moda que he amado, teniendo un gran poder de hipnotizarme, es el diseñador británico John Galliano mientras era director de Dior. Después, Gran Bretaña siguió rigiendo mi lado inspirador al dejar que Alexander McQueen tocara, moviera y entrara profundamente a mis sentidos con su maravilloso, tan intrigante, tan poderoso y tan artístico trabajo. Y eso es exactamente lo que Alexander ciertamente era, un verdadero artista a quien le había sido dado un don maravilloso para proyectar su imaginación y deseos de una manera tan magnífica a través de obras de arte de moda. Fácilmente él pudo haber sido llamado "el Michelangelo de la moda" a pesar de la diferencia de sus eras y de su campo artístico, ambos eran perfeccionistas y realmente sentían lo que hacían, lo que creaban. 
McQueen era bien conocido por crear lo extraordinario, por crear lo que nosotros anteriormente hubiéramos considerado como inimaginable dejándome totalmente sin palabras e increíblemente maravillada. Sus colecciones otoño-invierno eran tan espectaculares y, por supuesto, piezas únicas necesitaban de una presentación única. Las modelos en sus desfiles usaban máscaras, armadura, grandes sombreros y un maquillaje bastante interesante que añadía el toque perfecto de controversia. Naturalmente él se convirtió en uno de los diseñadores más influyentes de todos los tiempos y se hizo aún más popular en las masas al momento en que Lady Gaga se volvió fan de su arte y usó piezas McQueen en sus videos y apariciones.

If there was a way to get to know what was going through his mind while he was drawing the sketches for his collections... oh yes, then I would have been incredibly glad of having the power to discover that but, since unfortunately such thing is humongously impossible and will never happen and could have never happened, then it'll still remain a mistery that will keep on fascinating me.

Si hubiera una manera de haber llegado a conocer lo que pasaba por su mente mientras dibujaba los bosquejos para sus colecciones... oh sí, entonces yo hubiera estado increíblemente encantada si hubiera tenido el poder de descubrirlo pero ya que, desafortunadamente  tal cosa es enormemente imposible y  jamás pasará ni hubiera pasado, entonces seguirá siendo un misterio que me continuará fascinando.

It's been now three years since the master passed away (11.02.10) and I still remember how I felt back then as soon as I was aware of this big lost in art and inspiration. I was incredibly sad since it meant it was the end of an era with the maginificent McQueen and we, the ones wo loved (and still do) his work would never see any other new creations by him. He died still being very young but what the offered to the fashion industry was beyond words since what he did was not just fashion but passion. 
So since his death Sara Burton is on the throne and I'm sure that mr. Alexander would be absolutely amazed to see the magnificent work she's been doing, there's no doubt she's the perfect person to maintain McQueen's legacy on Earth. 

I will be incredibly glad whenever I'll buy my first McQueen pair of shoes or dress, I want to feel like a lucky owner of a little piece of his artwork and I'm sure that feeling will be amazing and I swear I just can't wait to live my McQueen experience remembering that his body left Earth but his legacy will always remain.

Han pasado ahora tres años desde que el maestro murió (11.02.10) y aún recuerdo cómo me sentí en aquél entonces tan pronto como vi la noticia de dicha gran pérdida en el arte e inspiración. Estaba sumamente triste ya que eso significaba que era el final de una era con el magnífico McQueen y que nosotros, quienes amábamos (y seguimos amando) su trabajo jamás veríamos nuevas colecciones creadas por él. Él murió aún siendo muy joven pero lo que ofreció a la industria de la moda iba más allá de las palabras ya que lo que él hizo no fue sólo moda sino pasión. 
Así que después de su muerte, Sara Burton está en el trono y estoy segura de que el señor Alexander estaría absolutamente maravillado al ver el trabajo tan magnífico que ella está haciendo, no hay duda alguna de que ella es la persona perfecta para mantener el legado McQueen en la Tierra.
Seré sumamente feliz cuando compre mi primer par de zapatos o vestido McQueen, quiero sentirme como una afortunada propietaria de una pequeña parte de su talento y estoy segura de que ese sentimiento será maravilloso y juro que no puedo esperar a finalmente vivir mi experiencia McQueen recordando que su cuerpo dejó la Tierra pero que su legado siempre seguirá.
